Just in the event that you are sitting there, wondering what a weight loss transformation is, I’ll tell you.
Transformation, as defined by the Cambridge dictionary,” is a complete change in the appearance or character of something or someone”. A weight loss transformation happens when there is a complete change in the appearance, weight, looks, body measurement of an individual. It can sometimes be so extreme that you hardly recognize the person.
In essence, if you have decided to lose weight, maybe flatten your tummy, hips, thighs etc. You are hoping for a weight loss transformation.
Why Watch Weight Loss Before and After Videos?
Weight loss transformation pictures and videos are my go-to source of inspiration on this weight loss journey I’ve embarked on.
Like a quote I love so much says
Losing weight is hard,
Staying fat is hard,
Choose your hard.
Losing weight is reaaaallly hard!
I’ve wanted to give up so many times, it’s crazy.
It’ll task you physically, emotionally, mentally and even financially. Now you have to engage in physical exercises when hitherto your only form of exercise was lifting food into your mouth. Ha ha ha!
You’ll have to become mentally strong enough to say NO to certain kinds of food you really love. Then cut off your romance with sugar in all it’s form and most importantly cough out the money for good quality(healthy) food. I’m sure by now you know that junk food is cheap but it does soooo much harm to your body.
So, how then do we go through this path of highest resistance to achieve our goal of losing weight?
Keys to Successful Achievement of your weight loss goals
If you have decided to lose weight, I have realized that there is a tried, tested and proven method to arrive at that goal. Over the years I have tried quite a number of times and failed woefully. The reason being that I never really made the commitment. I came up with all manners of excuses, like an extra plate of food just for today and the next day, and the next week. Eventually, a year goes by and I haven’t lost a single pound!
I had so many other things going on and focusing on weight loss wasn’t a priority for me. In the back of my mind yes, I wanted to look and feel better. But in reality, I had no intention of doing anything about it. And deep down I knew it.
The truth is that you really have to daily want to make that change.
Commitment to your weight loss is the first key to success if you intend to see that transformation which you seek.
Now that you are ready to commit, it’s time to make a plan. Weight loss does not happen magically ( I sure wish it does!!). You’d have to sit down and really plan.
- How long you think it will take,
- How many hours each day you will need to set aside to make it happen.
- What will the financial commitment be?
- What to eat to lose weight?
You can’t succeed without a plan.
When it comes to losing weight, there has to be a lot of thought, preparation and motivation involved.
Accountability is according to the common dictionary definition: Being “Subject to having to report, explain or justify; being answerable, responsible.”
You’ll need to more or less report to someone/answerable to someone concerning your weight loss. For me, it’s my physician. Since I’m losing weight for medical reasons, my monthly visit to the doctor includes a check on the scale. Because I do not want to appear irresponsible, especially to the doctor I make an extra effort to follow through with my plans.
This blog is also a form of accountability😊.
Draw on the experience of others
Education is the key to open closed doors. You’ll have to learn the science behind weight loss, learn how others managed to lose weight, watch tv series like the biggest loser, get into youtube and watch as many weight loss transformation videos.
I have an entire board on Pinterest of weight loss before and after photos and how they achieved it. You can follow the board here,
The whole idea is to draw from the experiences of people who have successfully achieved their weight loss. Learn
- How long it took them.
- The kinds of food they were eating.
- How they stayed motivated.
- What kind of exercises and how often they exercised.
- Their general tips and tricks.
Find what works for you
In the process of research and trying to draw on the experience of others, you’ll find that some methods resonate well with you while others just seem impossible. You’ll find that some things work well for you and your body system while others don’t. Just go with what works for you.
I have found the ketogenic diet quite easy for me to follow and it has helped me drop over 15 kg, that is 33 pounds without staving.
Once you had made the intention to commit, and have a plan…get yourself organized.
What tools do you need to make things happen?
It doesn’t matter who you choose for your support system, just make sure you have people there to lean on. Possibly enlist a friend as your weight loss buddy or you could join me and let’s lose weight together.
Now you have everything in place, you know how much and how long it should take you to achieve your goal weight. Depending on how much you have to lose, it could take you anything from three months to two years. Break it down to weekly goals and monthly goals. Do your best to be consistent, knowing that it’s a whole lifestyle change.
Remember its not just the destination but the journey as well. Enjoy the journey to your weight loss transformation.
